We as student group leaders in TRSM strongly believe that business-specific career services are essential to building the skills, experiences and connections we need for career success after we graduate.
Here are the facts:

1. TRSM Career Centre is currently the least funded business career centre in Canada

2. We are asking for an ancillary fee of $50/term to go towards business –specific career services only accessible to TRSM students. Ivey students pay $450/term. Telfer students pay 100/term. Sprott students pays 90/term. Degroote students pay $65/term.

3. If the Referendum succeeds, the Staff-to-Student ratio in the TRSM Career centre would reduce from 1 staff for every 3427 students to a manageable size of 1 staff for every 876 students.

4. The fee will start being collected September 2012

5. The service will extend to YOU as an alumni for 2 years!

6. More job and internship opportunities will be available to YOU!

7. More on-campus networking and recruitment events will be offered to YOU!

8. The centre will conduct program-specific marketing and outreach to employers for YOU!

9. The Centre will provide one-on-one, program specific advising and career preparation support to YOU!

You have the opportunity to steer TRSM’s reputation to a higher level, increase the career opportunities available to TRSM students, grow the services offered to you and invest in your career. You can lay the foundation for future TRSM students – they will thank you!

Networking in the business world is undoubtedly important; and what better way to get our students out there than to put them in front of high level professionals of technology firms along with the HR representatives? The ITMSA will be hosting a networking night each semester and we believe that this events creates a great networking platform for our students.

Build your confidence and put your networking skills to test by attending the Fall Networking Night, scheduled to be held on the 14th of November from 6:30 to 9:30 in the CMA Student Lounge (1-003)!

Date: Thursday, October 27 2011
Time: 9pm to 2am
Cover: Advance tickets – $10, Cover at door – $15
Age: 19+

Tickets are available at our office, TRS 1-139. Ticket are limited. Get them while you can!

All ticket proceeds will be going to the Covenant House and Sick Kids Hospital. More donations are welcome!
