About

The Information Technology Management Students’ Association (ITMSA) is the course union/students’ association for the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management at Ryerson University. We run social, academic and advancement events for TRSITM students and within the Faculty of Business.

Such events include:

  • Ryerson CaseIT Competition – winners will get the chance to compete internationally
  • Symcor IT Case Competition – students from Canadian universities are invited to this inter-university competion
  • Pub nights – spend time with fellow classmates and take some time to relax from course work
  • Networking nights – increase your network by meeting and talking to other classmates, alumni and industry professionals
  • and many more…

In order to provide events that benefit the student body, we aim to work collaboratively with other student groups/course unions. Our main goal is to meet the needs and expectations of students and fellow Ryerson student groups/course unions, and to further promote the TRSITM brand outside of the Ryerson Community.

The Executive Team in 2007-2008 took the initiative to take this “branding” literally and produced T-Shirts for Ryerson’s Annual Parade and Picnic, along with TRSITM Hoodies. The current Executive Team intends to continue this, by producing T-Shirts for this year’s Ryerson’s Annual Parade and Picnic, and are aiming to continue making available TRSITM clothing to the Ryerson student body in the Fall and Winter semesters.

The ITMSA also seeks not only to benefit the student body, but to also act philanthropically in order to promote awareness and support to those in need. In the past we’ve worked with Habitat for Humanity to increase the awareness of substandard housing and the need for habitable houses. Also, we participated in United Way’s CN Tower Climb, where we raised $1,400.07 that went towards helping people in need.
